![]() ![]() This is why underwear with good “support” isn’t going to do you any good. Walking around for a while will dislodge whatever you intend to hold in place up front, and it’ll start migrating into various positions and start chafing against the leg and ruin your whole day. The constant readjustment problem that plagues every guy all day long has nothing to do with a lack of “support.” It has to do with a lack of containment. “Support” is what happens when you’re lifted up from underneath. But what good is that? I will begin by saying that everything you’ve been told about men’s underwear is wrong.Įveryone talks about “support,” claiming that one pair of underwear has good “support,” while another does not. How men’s underwear discussions tend to miss the point So go ahead and get comfortable, because this is going to be as thorough as a nuclear submarine technical manual. It’s all going to start making perfect sense, and by the end of all this, I think you’ll be able to find something that’ll work for you, without having to spend $30 on something that fits horribly and gets thrown in the garbage by the end of the day. ![]() Yes, ladies and gentlemen––but mostly gentlemen––I think I’ve actually figured out why some people like one design instead of another, and I also think I can articulate this problem without resorting to obscene diagrams. Add to this the fact that underwear is incredibly polarizing, with some people liking a loose boxer fit, while others prefer a boxer brief, along with all kinds of other preferences that are more divisive than a heated political debate. And I think I finally know why. So many designs out there are total garbage that most guys don’t bother sifting through the selection to find something good, and end up just living with whatever’s cheap, because the fancy ones don’t work either. I’ve written about men’s underwear before, specifically regarding how incredibly difficult it is finding something that works. Welcome, friends and loved ones, to what is going to be the most detailed discussion I have ever produced.

Only UK residents can take tours, and only members of Parliament or members of the House of Lords are eligible to do so.īig Ben tickets are a must-have for any traveler visiting London. Every fifteen minutes at an hour, Big Ben’s quarter bells ring out. It used to refer to only the bell, but it has since evolved into a symbol that includes the clock, tower, and bell. This iconic clock, housed in the Palace of Westminster in London, tolled once every minute for 96 minutes, representing the 96 years of the Queen’s life. The last quarter bell tolls at 15 p.m., 30 p.m., and 45 p.m., before Big Ben towers over the city. For example, at one o’clock, the bell will chime once, at two o’clock it will chime twice, and so on. Instead, the bell inside the clock tower rings out the number of times corresponding to the hour. The bell inside the tower only strikes on the hour, but it does not toll. Although many people believe that Big Ben tolls every hour, this is not actually the case. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. With newest-first comment order, it feels like the only way to have reasonable confidence that you’re not repeating a conversation that’s already been had is to read all the comments on the post - often a daunting task!įor what it’s worth, my personal, idiosyncratic preference would be for oldest-first comment order with a single level of nesting, so comments directly on the post can be used to split out different topics of conversation related to the original post, but replies to those top-level comments proceed in a more linear, conversational sequence. With oldest-first comment order, conversation about a topic tends to attach to the first comment about that topic, so when you see a topic you want to weigh in on it feels pretty safe to jump right in to the discussion without worrying about whether your point has already been made many times over elsewhere in the comment thread. Reading the comments on “BOOK REVIEW: THE STRUCTURE OF SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTIONS”, I discovered a thing that I dislike about newest-first comment order. These costs on the part of the seller are not part of the tariff, but are presumably passed onto the consumer. Companies that sell to consumers have to take back products and have to either take them to a governmental waste gathering place or store them themselves and have them be picked up by Wecycle. Note that these tariffs are a lower bound of the cost of recycling. Producers and importers pay these tariffs to Wecycle, passing the cost onto the sellers of the products who pass the cost onto the customer.įrom the start in 1999 to 2015, Wecycle processed 110 million kilos of electronic waste, of which 83% was recycled, 14% burned for electricity, 1% burned to get rid of it and 2% put in a dump. ![]() As Wecycle is a non-profit, these tariffs are based on cost. The unions for producers and importers set the tariffs on each product (per item or by weight), so Wecycle has the money to do their job. So 6 Dutch unions for producers and importers created (and control) a non-profit called Wecycle, which runs a recycling facility and which picks up the products from certain locations (in contrast to what I said earlier, this seems to be part of the tariff as well). If each would organize the disposal of products on their own, this would be very costly and you’d have issues deciding who pays for recycling the products. EU law requires them to take responsibility for recycling the products they sell and sold, collectively. There are ~1750 Dutch producers and importers of these products. Having most readers need to at least vaguely skim what others have already said before adding their 2 cents seems more likely to result in the comments section as a whole being productive. So yeah, I think latest-first ordering has a bad effect on Scott’s posts because it further encourages the tendency (I’m guilty of) of not even skimming what has already been said before posting one’s own opinion. And in any case, no one really discusses the old posts in the comments section for the old posts once they’re old instead, they reference them in an OT or relevant new post where others are looking. This doesn’t mess up much of anything in an OT, where one OP often has nothing to do with those that came before it. Latest-first ordering extends the shelf life of an OT, I think, by making it possible for new comments to get seen. My initial thought was maybe use latest-first comment ordering on Scott’s posts (on the theory they are more “evergreen,” and one wants to see if someone has added something new to them) and the old ordering on the OTs, but now I suspect the opposite is the way to go. ![]() 5030097485869 Open Road Royal Deluxe Hat 270.00 ///cdn/shop/products/tfropr-3626_cognac_1.jpg?v=1591227907 ///cdn/shop/products/tfropr-3626_cognac_1_large.jpg?v=1591227907 USD InStock open road All Gifts for Him Gifts for the City Dweller Globo basis collection - Do not delete Hats Hats / Collections Hats / Collections / Best Sellers Hats / Fedora Hats / Fedora / Felt Hats / Western Hats / Western / Classics Hats / Western / Felt Legendary Denim Open Road Open Road Felt Hats Valentine's Day Gifts Stetson, whose pioneering legacy lives on in every hat we sell. ![]() The Open Road Royal Deluxe features a roan leather sweatband and a 4 ¼” crown outfitted with a grosgrain hat band and branding-iron hat pin bearing the initials “JBS”, a nod to our founder, John B.
